The death of Christ on the Cross is when the New Covenant began (Heb. 9:15-17). And the One who died has also risen to enforce the terms of His own will. Christ has secured an eternal inheritance for us and has already given us the Holy Spirit as the down-payment of that inheritance. The sacrifice of Christ has put away sin (Heb. 9:26), and we are called to eagerly wait for Christ who will bring with Him the full inheritance of our salvation (Heb. 9:28).
