Miracles, Signs, and Wonders (Part 1)
Throughout Scripture we see God is a God of miracles, signs, and wonders. God is neither distant from his creation nor collapsed into the laws of nature. Rather, God is above nature and yet intimately involved in our lives doing things that are “out of the ordinary”, what we call “supernatural.” At Pentecost the apostle Peter addresses the crowd by saying that Jesus was “a Man attested by God to you by MIRACLES, WONDERS, and SIGNS which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know” (Acts 2:22). Join us as we begin our journey opening the Scriptures to see ways in which the Spirit of God continues to work supernaturally among the church and how we are called to be open to those supernatural gifts. This morning we will begin by looking at the first sign/wonder at the churches birth—“tongues of fire” and “speaking in other tongues.
