HEALING — “THE NAME OF JESUS”
Jesus means “salvation.” The primary thing Jesus would save us from is our sin. Yet, in delivering us from our sin, Jesus also liberates us from the fruit and consequences of our sin and fall. Including the sickness of our bodies! We have been given the authority of the name of Jesus to pray for the sick. “IN MY NAME…they will lay hands on the sick” (Mark 16:17-18). “Is anyone among you sick? Let … let them pray over him, anointing him with oil IN THE NAME OF THE LORD” (James 5:14). This is the name above all names! Every knee must bow at this name! (Phil. 2:9-11) Jesus has called us to use His name, as a sign of His authority, and we would do well to continue to hallow that name in our lives—regularly using it to bring Christ glory! (John 14:13-14; Matt. 6:9; Acts 3-4)
