Salvation is not meant to be a “shaky” subject. John says that we can KNOW that we have eternal life. (1 John 5:13) And the glory of eternal life is not so much about its *length* of time, as much as it is about the joy and relationship that if found in *being with* the Father and the Son (John 17:3). Something that begins in this life! From this position we have “confidence” our prayers. When we ask things according to our Father’s will, we have what we ask! (1 John 5:14-15) Not only that, but our prayers have real power and efficacy when we pray for our straying brothers and sisters.
