Miracles, Signs, and Wonders (Part 2)
This morning we will look at the subject of “speaking in tongues.” Jesus said that “new tongues” was a “sign” that would “follow” those who believe in Him. Paul’s desire was that all of the Corinthians would speak in tongues. The personal use of tongues is given for edification, for fervency in prayer (as one can switch back in forth between prayer with tongues and prayer with one’s understanding), as well as for bringing us a rest and refreshing. Tongues does not make someone a “super Christian” but it is one of the many gifts that Christ has given his church. If anything, tongues should make someone humble and full of joy—it makes us like little kids. Paul teaches that we should “earnestly desire” Christ’s gifts. Tune in and listen on how we can desire and receive this gift and begin to walk in the blessing it brings.
